Job Description
We are looking for a Sustainability Lead to join our team on a permanent basis, reporting into our General Manager of Sustainability.

What will I be doing ?
The primary purpose of the Sustainability Lead role is to support the Sustainability function to implement HAA's sustainability strategy across the business with particular focus on product and packaging sustainability, circularity and compliance.
- Supporting development and execution of the company's sustainability strategy, including goals and targets
- Working with stakeholders across the business to identify, define and monitor implementation of strategic sustainability and/or business initiatives
- Overseeing and ensuring compliance and effective risk mitigation against key sustainability requirements related to product and packaging (e.g. packaging/circularity etc.)
- Leading internal and external reporting related to product and packaging sustainability initiatives (e.g. APCO, Better Cotton, Seamless, Textile Exchange)
- Partnering with Hanesbrands and Hanes Australasia (HAA) Sustainability team members on reporting for product and packaging, including climate-related reporting
- Executing product certification audits, and guiding team members to ensure compliance to certification requirements
- Helping to drive and embed a culture of sustainability throughout HAA, providing the opportunity to make a difference.
- Supporting communication of sustainability achievements / initiatives internally
What experience do I have?
- 5+ years' experience working in the Apparel industry – either directly or indirectly in a professional services firm
- Experience in Sustainability, product, design or sourcing
- Experience in sustainability reporting and compliance, including product, packaging, GHG and other sustainability related metrics
- Knowledge of product or packaging Sustainability Criteria, certification and legislation.
- Experience in data analysis, including ability to interpret, visualise and summarise key insights and recommendations
- Ability to understand broader HAA strategy to inform and align on progress towards sustainability strategy and goals
- Proficiency in data analysis tools and software, including Excel and Power BI
- Strong communication skills and demonstrated ability to communicate effectively (written and oral)
- Strong problem solving mindset
