About the Role
We have an opportunity for a Junior Planner looking to take the next step in their planning career. This dynamic and fast paced role is perfect for a self-motivated and passionate candidate, wanting to be part of a growing team.
The main responsibility of this role is to identify and deliver profitable outcomes for the business through the achievement of requisite inventory levels, sales and gross profit. You will provide our Buying Team with insightful reporting and analysis in order to improve productivity at all levels.
The primary objectives of the role are:
- Develop and maintain merchandise financial plans with Senior planner
- Work closely with buyers to create strategies for seasonal products assortment.
- Manage demand forecast for basic products by using the forecast tool ( LDE retail and Fulfillment tool), identity risks and opportunities in the demand plan, recommending adjustments to avoid stockouts or excess inventory.
- Regularly review replenishment methods to manage optimized inventory.
- Ensure high service level of basic products.
- Manage markdowns strategically to minimize clearance and maximizes stock turn.
- Generate regular reports on key performance metrics, including sales, stock turnover, margin and profitability.
- Prepare and present post-season analysis and provide recommendations for future planning.
The required skills and experience will include:
- Proven experience in a similar role
- Tertiary Qualifications in Merchandising or Business/Finance
- Technical aptitude, with an ability to grasp technical concepts and details
- Strong planning, coordinating and administration skills
- Strong Excel skills
- Flexible attitude, with loads of initiative, you thrive on change and challenges
- Strong communication skills
- Attention to detail and proactive problem-solving for inventory and demand risks.
