Group Financial Accountant | Kew Melbourne | 7 month FTC
Exciting opportunity in our Finance team for a Financial Reporting Accountant. Reporting to the Group Reporting Manager your role will cover four key areas, outlined below, and have exposure up to CEO level.
You will responsible for consolidating the group's monthly financial results, preparing the group's local financial statements, preparing financial analysis and reporting to senior management and overseeing the financial controls environment.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Group consolidation
- Manage the monthly consolidation of the group's financial statements
- Manage consolidation journal entries
- Analyse results and investigate key balances/unusual movements
- Prepare reporting deliverables for senior management and our US parent company
- Financial statement preparation
- Prepare financial statements for multiple legal entities
- Manage key elements of the internal / external audit processes
- Exposure to technical accounting concepts (USGAAP vs AIFRS, hedge accounting, tax effect accounting, acquisition accounting, leasing)
- Financial controls compliance
- Monitor the adherence of key finance controls under US Sarbanes Oxley (SOX)
- Support enhancements to processes and systems to improve controls efficiencies
- FP&A / financial analysis
- Support monthly management reporting requirements
- Provide key insights to stakeholders on financial performance
- Involvement in group budgeting/forecasting processes and monitoring
What experience do I have?
- CA/CPA qualified - essential
- Big 4 / mid-tier audit experience highly desirable
- Proven financial reporting & technical accounting skills
- Commercial experience in a large organisation
- Exposure to US accounting standards / SOX - desirable
- Flexible, adaptable, easy-going style – open minded and keen to help out where required
- Naturally curious and a problem solver
- Positive attitude and confident stakeholder manager
